CASE STUDY :: LUSH COSMETICS : EPOS, WEBSITEs AND POS APPs

With 931 free standing shops and mall locations in 49 countries globally, Lush cosmetics have grown considerably since 1995. With that growth comes a special set of growing pains. Design & brand alignment, digital infrastructure and online product alignment.

Working with 16 markets globally we helped deliver a unified core website experience with local market variations, allowing a single point of truth for design, branding, copy and product. Using secure APIs the Lush global website connects from the warehouse to the web, from the user to the ePOS and out into app and fulfilment.

Content can be centrally created and managed to ensure consistency and each market can translate both price point and copy for the market variance and unique offering without altering the core values on Brand. Once of the main benefits, giving the right level of control on brand and flexibility available in market.

Appointed to manage the rollout of the web and infrastructure in 16 countries the digital estate has reduced market costs year on year, not only through combining systems but also streamlining content. Providing a cleaner experience for end users and reaching more customers to increase product sales.

We have been successful in delivering the following…

  • Programme Management & Leadership of a multi-million pound digital transformation programme which included the roll out of a complex new Drupal digital eCommerce programme which included;
  • Development leadership of the core website across 16 international markets and the integration of Lingotek to translate each of the market languages with team of translators.
  • Managing the design, development and deployment of the iOS and Android app that was used for customer eCommerce and also on tablets in store, removing all IP from third parties globally saving ~£2m/y per market.
  • Development of the Epos with omni-channel payment gateway integration through global partners for all transactions and overall management of sales ledgers across the business from store to eCom and into the finance system.
  • Managing the design, development and deployment of the stock management from inventory across all stores in 16 countries.
  • Full integration of the delivery system into the core platform and integration with Global courier services and logistic companies.
  • Development of global business plans, strategy and budgets to monitor the rollout of this platform to ensure that financial targets and timelines were met.
