CASE STUDY :: KFC APPs, WEBSITEs AND AGILE TRANSFORMATION

With around 22,621 locations globally in 136 countries, KFC have built an empire of quick service restaurants, giving rise to uniquely positive problems, like how do we get our product to everyone who wants it, quickly, easily with a consistent high quality.

Working with 3 product development teams, infrastructure and market teams and many other 3rd parties, we helped manage the teams that delivered new digital infrastructure to ePOS, App delivery & click and collect into the European markets. Reducing distributed financial waste and increasing individual ticket price, user experience and number of sales.

Delivery of strategic digital transformation programme for KFC EMEA, including building and training of 6+ agile teams to deliver new websites, apps and ePOS integrations for customer delivery, Click & Collect, Kiosk, aggregators and Loyalty products. Delivering across 8 EMEA markets. Savings over 30% on development and testing costs and revenue growth ~40% to around £22m/y.

Over the course of around 3 years we have also been …

  • Directing multiple teams across the UK, EMEA, USA, India and New Zealand throughout covid restrictions & challenges.
  • Shaping product vision with global teams and stakeholders through to the end users and franchisee stakeholder seminars.
  • Creating and developing roadmaps and delivery and distribution strategy for all user groups and potential markets.
  • Development of a competing feature set to Facebook Workplace, Google Workplace, Microsoft Yammer & Salesforce.
  • Owning the full Lifecycle of the product and the teams from inception, through to initial delivery within a mature Agile process previously implemented by our team.
  • Proposed solution vs prospected SASS model cost saving ~£1.2m in Year one and owned Intellectual property.
  • Integrated SSO for global seamless sign-on to learning & training platforms and providing data driven reporting.
  • Removing reliance on existing global communication platforms reducing costs of around £6m/y per market.
