CASE STUDY :: PETERBOROUGH COUNCIL : WEBSITE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

Peterborough City Council was formed as a unitary authority in 1998, having previously been part of Cambridgeshire County Council. As a unitary authority, the council has both the powers of a non-metropolitan county and district council combined. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) mid-year estimate for the population of Peterborough was 193,980 in 2015 and they had a very driven digital strategy that we were asked to help deliver on.

We worked with the council to deliver their digital strategy for 2008 and into 2009. We firstly carried out some extensive user testing which informed the ongoing vision and delivery of the public website.

Through the full software development life cycle we carried out a full requirements and specification stage, design, modelling and prototyping stage and then finally onto the development stage once we had the approval from the council and all stakeholders. Finally once the content was loaded into the site, we carried out our quality assurance stage before handing over to the council along with some training documentation and training workshops for the internal team.
